About Reena.
I have always been making art for as long as I can remember. I engage and delight playing with different materials. I work in collage, fabric, acrylic, paint, ink, in layers and layers. Utilizing ephemera is a passion. I feel I am giving new life to forgotten and discarded items and they have a new purpose and way of being enjoyed.
I graduated from Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park PA with a degree in Fine Arts. My concentration was in Printmaking. Printmaking was always magical to me and still is. Adding the addition of pressure to your art can change your mark making. Unintended things might happen after your artwork goes through the press. Happy things might occur or not. I don't throw anything away and oftentimes mistakes make their way into another piece of art or a card for a friend.
When I am not creating fine art I am always busy with one thing or another. Be it sewing accessories like hats or hand warmers out of old sweaters, weaving scarves or tallit (prayer shawls) or working on some textile project, I am always keeping my hands busy through my fine art or many fine crafts that I like to do.
